I read James Austin’s Chase, Chance, and Creativity: The Lucky Art of Novelty this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. It shares great examples of creativity, the creative mindset, and different ways we can think about coming up with good ideas. One idea that stood out is that there are four kinds of “luck.”
It’s easier to understand something if you can develop a richer vocabulary, and creativity is no exception. Similar to how the Greeks had three different words for “love,” Austin defines four different words for “luck.”
